Finishing with HIGH PRICE of a GOOD MAN

Queenie and Poe have some weird adventures together as this novel progresses. The most rememberable incident for me began when Poe found out something astonishing about her boyfriend that prompts the two friends on an extensive roadtrip. When they reach their destination, even more weird things begin to happen.

Queenie has her special date with the handsome Zeke and ends up in bed with...You would never guess in a million years so please, read the book!

The ending is one that I sort of predicted because of the tone of the entire book but I will not ruin it by telling you all. If you would like to dig deeper into this juicy novel today, contact Baileysbookworm today! 484-674-1290.

Not the story grandmom used to read!

Posted by Picasa

We are back to talk more about our latest novel. This is definitely not one that would be appropriate for young people to read. There are some references to sex and other adult level issues so parents, please. This novel is just for you.

We pick up Miss Queenie's trail as she goes off with Poe to the charity event where she clearly expects to meet up with Mr. Billy Dee Williams. She is not really one who gives to charity very regularly but because of the promises made for her to finally meet her one true love, she was willing to give it a try. The start of the event is delayed and during the extreme wait, Queenie has a revelation.

Billy Dee is not coming! We won't tell all but instead of meeting Mr. Williams, Queenie spends a pretty penny on a Denzel look-a-like by the name of Zeke. He is not Billy Dee but he will definitely do. She has purchased her a man for one night and to her he is a perfect choice. With his handsome face, gorgeous body, and sizzling personality, is Queenie correct in thinking he is "the one"? Will her date continue beyond the one paid for? Will Zeke sweep Miss Queenie off her feet?

More on the Price of a Good Man

More on our novel…
Is there a high price to finding a good man? That is a very good question. Miss Queenisha Renae Sutton, a 28 year old, tall, plus-sized bomb shell is going to find out just what that price is in the pages of our latest book, The High Price of a Good Man.
Queenisha, or Queenie as she is called by her family and friends, is a young woman with an ego. She feels that she is the most beautiful, sexy woman on the planet. She really loves herself. This amazon diva lives on the words of wisdom passed down to her from her mother. Those words taught her to love herself above and beyond all else and she takes those words to heart in her everyday life as an executive buyer for Macy’s Department Store.
After getting her college degree she achieved several things in her life. She has a cozy condo in a good neighborhood, a good paying job, and the car of her dreams. Miss Queenie felt she was too good for certain circumstances and certain types of men. She refused to pay for a man, she was too good for that scene, and presently she had no man. However, that did not make her a lonely young woman. She had the camaraderie of her best friend since grade school, Poetta Chenell James. Those two had been thick as thieves for many years and always had each others back in any situation.
The only stress in Miss Queenie’s life was the most intense on Monday mornings. She drove to work anticipating what would wait for her beyond the parking lot entrance. The first thing that comes to her mind as she travels is HATE. As she parks her car she draws in a deep breath. As she moves towards her office her heart races and she gets an odd stiffness in her back. When she reaches her office door without incident she feels safe, falsely. She closes the door, places her back against the door in relief just to begin to smell the roses in the vase on her desk. She focuses on the desk at the far corner of the room and notice the single candle glowing there, the glass a orange juice (probably fresh squeezed), the sliced fruit and muffins all there for her to devour. But where did all this come from? Mr. Raymundo Carlos Morales Castillo is the one to thank for the breakfast spread and the only source of Miss Queenie’s stress. Raymo, as she calls him, is truly in love with her. He proclaims his love by these elaborate meals several times a week and she can’t stand it. She loves the food but believes Raymo is not her type. He is loosing his hair and is a very short man, compared to Miss Queenie. She believes a short man would be, let’s say, not so very well endowed where it counts and she refuses to take a chance with that assumption. She likes large men, as she is what is called a large woman. Besides that, Raymo reminds Queenie of an ex of hers, Monroe. Monroe did not leave on pleasant terms and she fears Raymo is very similar to him.
She is not one to fret over a man though. Queenie believes the right man for her will come along and she will live on happily ever after. In the meantime, she can count on her mom to be there for her along with her best friend, Poe. She and Poe do almost everything together and that was fine with Queenie.
One day while visiting with Poe, Queenie was asked to participate in the AIDS Date-a-thon Fund-raiser where Mr. Billy Dee Williams would be the host. Billy Dee is her favorite star so queenie does not hesitate to say yes to helping out at the charity event.
Both the charity event and the next few weeks surprise the diva in more ways than one. Stay tuned for more on this engaging novel from SugaMomma.

How many adults do you know who read regularly?

The question came to mind when I began my search for our next book to review. How many of your friends and family read on a regular basis? It does matter whether they read for enjoyment or for informational purposes. Most people will read what they NEED to in order to accomplish a goal or answer a question they might have had. But who reads purely for the enjoyment? I do, and lots of my friends, family, and associates.
An element that is a huge factor to some friends of mine is the juice. What I mean is, what is exciting about the book? Are there any elements of suspense and surprise that keep the pages turning even though your children are starving and have been waiting for the last hour for you to make dinner because you can't put down the novel you started earlier in the day? Are there fascinating ADULT paragraphs that make you want to find your loved one and grab them for a big kiss and...?

The next novel we will review is titled "The High Price of a Good Man" written by Debra Phillips. The novel revolves around a woman by the name of Queenie who believes she is truly FINE and is looking for the perfect man to complete her. Little does she know, her soulmate may be much closer than she ever imagined.

She is an idependent career woman who begins the plot with a charity auction purchase. Wow, I wonder what it is she is buying? Could she be in the market for a new piece of furniture or possibly an antique or two? If you are intrigued and would like to get a hold of the book contat me at Baileysbookworm@yahoo.com.
