Winter Has Arrived!

Well,

I must say, I did not realize it has been so long since I updated this site. I have been so very busy with classes and work and everything. I received my grades yesterday so I can breath easy again. I have a great grade point average so I am jumping back into the crochet again head first. I will begin with a hat and scarf set made with a color that is not quite pink, but not quite melon. Coming up in the next few days there will be pictures of the other scarves I have to show you so don't forget to come back. The links on the side panel are outdated and will also be updated in the next few days.
Happy Holidays!

Happy Summer People!

HELLO!

I hope you all are having an enjoyable summer. I have just been relaxing, sike! I have been extremely busy with graduations, birthdays, holiday celebrations, and I'm back in school on top of all that. I haven't taken much time to crochet lately so I must catch up on my Fall inventory.

I have some beautiful items coming in the new season. The colors and patterns are all fabulous, unique for you. The one that I have been working on is lovely. It is charcoal grey with a mix of lighter grey also. I can't wait for the weather to get a little brisk so that I can sport that one!

Keep your eyes on the site. I will post the photos of the grey poncho as soon as it is done. In the meantime, think of the colors of your fall and winter gear, and let me know what I can make for you next season!

I want to make a special note for my wonderful children. I am so proud of my children and my teens have really impressed me this summer. They are hard working, special boys. They help me tremendously and I am so grateful. Congratulations to Fernie who is now 18 and Drew who is 16! Love Yall

I can not go without a mention of DJ and Jess, my little loves, and BIG DADDY, Love Yall too!

Graduation Season

Hey Everyone!
This month has been a grand month for many of us. Parents are proud of their graduates whether they are leaving preschool, kindergarten, high school, or college. I personally had many reasons for joy. The first was that I was finally able to complete my first degree! I graduated too! Isn't it great? It feels great. Next, my eldest son not only just turned 18 years old but he also graduated from High School!

I could not have been any prouder of my boy. He looked so handsome in his cap and gown and big bright smile. I must say, I looked pretty good that day myself. I wore a CROCHET outfit that I may a few years ago for special occasions. It is a melon color three piece number. I am not wearing the shawl that makes the third piece of the outfit, but check me out below.

Flower Show @ Philadelphia Convention Center

Happy Spring Everyone!

Visiting the annual flower show was so much fun I figured I would share some of the photos my daughter and I took on that beautiful day. As you can see we were both wearing one of our ponchos and they were perfect for the occasion. There was so much to see and do and SMELL! WOW! The scents that where let free at the convention center that day were amazing. We just glided through taking it all in and letting the different scents guide us through the maze of wonderful exhibits. It was a great time. How do you like the ponchos? The pink, green, and white flowers add that extra special touch for anyone's baby. The scarf is a warm winter pattern with green, gold, and tan. This scarf would go well with your favorite winter jacket, jeans, and even a matching hat. Hats can also be made to match the items you choose.

Crochet Collage

Hey Everyone!

Thanks so much for all the positive responses that have been coming in about the ponchos. That really makes me feel great. I have been steadily working on more ponchos for you guys so here are a few more photos. As you can see there are some for little girls too!

When we last talked I figured no one would need a book on crocheting since I will be filling all the orders, but I found a couple of books in my collection that really helped me when I started crocheting. I have made blankets, scarves, hats for years and even expanded my range by crocheting myself and entire outfit for a wedding a few years ago. I made a top and skirt with a wrap and a little purse. These books helped me tremendously so here you go...

Learn to Crochet in 8 easy steps by Susan Bates is a very good book with step by step instructions which are pretty easy to follow.

63 Easy- to- Crochet Pattern Stitches by Leisure Arts is another I relied on heavily in my work.

Crocheting is alot of fun but it is not a very easy thing to do. Having the right person to help you or the right book at your side is the best way to go when you get started.

However, as I mentioned before, if you just want to look good in a custom made poncho, just for you, give me a call at 484-674-1290. I would love to make a beautiful new creation for you!

Crochet for the New Year

Good Day Everyone!

The new year has begun and I have been working on some different things. Number one, I wore my favorite poncho out a few months ago before the weather turned BITTER COLD and a surprising thing happened. Several ladies saw me and were intrigued enough to inquire as to where I got the "Fabulous Poncho". Well, after I finished blushing, I told these interested ladies that I had created the poncho myself, just for fun!

Following this revelation, that my ponchos are eye catching and always a conversation piece whenever I wear one, I decided to take on a few orders and just see what happened. Needless to say, the response was tremendous! I filled two orders before the holidays and I have several more I am working on now.

Most people appreciate crochet art but cannot do it themselves. Others stick with making the basic things such as blankets and such. The patterns can be very challenging so if any of you are intersted in learning contact me for the basic lesson before you go any further.

Let me know what you think of the pieces here, okay. call Celeste at 484-674-1290 or email baileysbookworm@yahoo.com

New Review-------LIFEGUARD

Well Guys,

I waited for you to give me some new book ideas but in the meantime I started reading a James Patterson novel that I must tell you about. I completed it in less than two days, that is how gripping it was to me.
I enjoy a good mystery, some suspense keeps me on the edge of my seat. The LIFEGUARD did that for me.

The story is about a young man with the worst of luck. He comes from a family of so called screw ups and his few chances to redeem his life always ended in tragedy.

James Patterson teams up with Andrew Gross for this thriller. I love a good mystery.

Our main character is Ned Kelly who is a lifeguard at a posh and luxurious Florida resort and hotel. He has no complaints about his present life. He enjoys the sun and surf daily while he gets to check out all the gorgeous model types on the beaches.
One day his whole world changes when he meets the woman of his dreams on the beach. She seems very wealthy to him but you know what assumptions do...

He falls in love with her and feels he needs a way to keep their love forever. How would he accomplish that with this beauty who is used to caviar and Manolo Blahniks, not hotdogs and Pay Less shoes?

His close friends from his home town in Boston have an idea that can't loose, or can it?

More later on this novel. If you are intrigued and would like to purchase now for just $5 call 484-674-1290 Baileys Bookworm.

New Book Ideas

Hello All,

Does anyone have a book they may be interested in but never read because you haven't heard anything about it around town? I am looking for a new book idea. Help me out.

Thanks

Poetry to get your feet wet

Hey Everyone!
I have a collection of poetry that was written many years ago. Somehow, suddenly I feel the need to share. ENJOY

Emotions

What are emotions?
How is one to express them in meaningful terms?
That is the question I’ve asked myself
Many times before
Emotions
Emotions flare when you are
A mother of three
At home alone
And lonely
Emotions-dispair
When you try to reach out
To your other half and get… Shot down
Why?
Because he doesn’t understand
Your emotions
Emotions-sadness
Is when you hang up the phone
After your love calls
And just cry
Why?
Because you know not what to do
You have so much inside of you
Pain, anger, regret
You realize you ain’t seen nothing yet
But what to expect?
You just wait to see
You and the three

Finishing with HIGH PRICE of a GOOD MAN

Queenie and Poe have some weird adventures together as this novel progresses. The most rememberable incident for me began when Poe found out something astonishing about her boyfriend that prompts the two friends on an extensive roadtrip. When they reach their destination, even more weird things begin to happen.

Queenie has her special date with the handsome Zeke and ends up in bed with...You would never guess in a million years so please, read the book!

The ending is one that I sort of predicted because of the tone of the entire book but I will not ruin it by telling you all. If you would like to dig deeper into this juicy novel today, contact Baileysbookworm today! 484-674-1290.

Debra Phillips, the author lives in California. If anyone is interested in more information on the author or any of her other work, check out the link to her website.
Happy Reading!

Not the story grandmom used to read!

Posted by Picasa

We are back to talk more about our latest novel. This is definitely not one that would be appropriate for young people to read. There are some references to sex and other adult level issues so parents, please. This novel is just for you.

We pick up Miss Queenie's trail as she goes off with Poe to the charity event where she clearly expects to meet up with Mr. Billy Dee Williams. She is not really one who gives to charity very regularly but because of the promises made for her to finally meet her one true love, she was willing to give it a try. The start of the event is delayed and during the extreme wait, Queenie has a revelation.

Billy Dee is not coming! We won't tell all but instead of meeting Mr. Williams, Queenie spends a pretty penny on a Denzel look-a-like by the name of Zeke. He is not Billy Dee but he will definitely do. She has purchased her a man for one night and to her he is a perfect choice. With his handsome face, gorgeous body, and sizzling personality, is Queenie correct in thinking he is "the one"? Will her date continue beyond the one paid for? Will Zeke sweep Miss Queenie off her feet?

Tune in later for more or contact Baileysbookworm@yahoo.com for a copy of your own.
